Cover Supervisor

Position: Cover Supervisor Location: Redbridge Start date: September 2026 Smart Teachers is recruiting reliable and confident Cover Supervisors to work across a range of secondary schools in Redbridge . The Role As a Cover Supervisor, you will: • Deliver pre-planned lessons in the absence of the classroom teacher across a variety of subjects. • Maintain a positive and productive learning environment. • Manage classroom behaviour in line with the school's behaviour policy. • Support pupils in completing the work set by teaching staff. • Provide feedback to teaching staff on pupil engagement and lesson outcomes. • Uphold safeguarding procedures and contribute to the smooth running of the school day. No planning or marking is required for the majority of supply assignments. The Ideal Candidate The successful applicant will: • Have experience working with young people, ideally within a secondary school or similar setting. • Be confident leading a classroom and managing behaviour effectively. • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. • Be organised, adaptable and able to build positive relationships quickly. • Have a proactive and professional approach to supporting students. • Hold an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to obtain one.
