Cover Supervisor

The school supports pupils with a range of additional needs, including Autism, SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs), learning difficulties and communication needs. As a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for supervising classes during teacher absences, ensuring students remain engaged with pre-planned work while maintaining a safe and supportive learning environment. You will also play an important pastoral role, helping students regulate their emotions, build positive relationships and overcome barriers to learning. Key Responsibilities • Deliver pre-planned lessons and learning activities in the teacher's absence • Support students with Autism, SEMH and additional learning needs • Promote positive behaviour and engagement within the classroom • Build strong relationships with pupils and staff • Provide pastoral and emotional support where required • Maintain a safe, structured and inclusive learning environment • Work closely with teaching and support staff to meet students' individual needs The Ideal Candidate • Experience working with children, young people or vulnerable adults • Confident managing groups and maintaining a positive learning environment • Strong communication and interpersonal skills • Patient, resilient and adaptable • Passionate about supporting young people to achieve their potential • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle is desirable This is an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience within specialist education while making a meaningful impact every day.
