COVER SUPERVISOR Term Time Only 8:30am - 3:40pm – Monday - Friday £16,145 - £16,961 pa (£11,994 - £12,600 pro rata) KR4 We are seeking to appoint a cover supervisor who will work as part of a team within a Learning Community in this large comprehensive school. You will be the first call for cover for absent staff and will also be required to provide classroom support for teachers and invigilate examinations. The role will also include: • Supporting pupils with additional needs in mainstream classes and teaching small withdrawal groups, ensuring their safety and access to learning • Liaising with parents/ carers as necessary. • Providing administrative support as necessary. • Attending relevant INSET • Attending meetings in school and with outside agencies • Establishing good relationships with pupils, acting as a role model and being aware of and responding appropriately to individual needs • Promoting the inclusion and acceptance of all pupils • Encouraging pupils to interact with others and engage in activities led by the teacher • Encouraging pupils to act independently as appropriate • Being aware of pupil problems/progress/achievements and reporting to the teacher • Undertaking pupil record keeping as requested • Supporting the teacher in managing pupil behaviour, reporting difficulties as appropriate • Supporting pupils in respect of local and national learning strategies e.g. literacy, numeracy, KS3 & 4, as directed by the teacher • Supporting pupils in using basic ICT as directed • Being aware of and complying with policies and procedures relating to child protection, health, safety and security, confidentiality and data protection, reporting all concerns to an appropriate person • Being aware of and supporting difference and ensuring all pupils have equal access to opportunities to learn and develop • Contributing to the overall ethos/work/aims of the school • Accompanying teaching staff and pupils on visits, trips and out of school activities as required GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES (ALL COVERSUPERVISORS) Responsibilities to the Headteacher: To promote the aims, values and ethos of the school and uphold school rules. To read and adhere to the procedures set out in the Staff Handbook. To participate in the appropriate meetings with colleagues and parents. To participate in performance management arrangements. To carry out other duties as may be reasonably required by the Headteacher. To support the ethos of the school and enforce the school’s behavioural and uniform policies.
