Cover Supervisor Location: Hull and East Riding Salary: £97–£120 per day (depending on experience) Contract: Full-time / Part-time / Flexible Supply Start Date: September starts available Cover Supervisor – Join GSL Education GSL Education is seeking confident, adaptable, and motivated Cover Supervisor to work in a local secondary school within Hull. This is an excellent opportunity for graduates, aspiring teachers, experienced support staff, or individuals with experience working with young people who are looking to gain valuable classroom experience. As a Cover Supervisor, you will play a key role in maintaining continuity of learning by supervising classes during teacher absences. You will deliver pre-set work, manage classroom behaviour, and ensure students remain engaged and on task throughout the lesson. Key Responsibilities of a Cover Supervisor • Supervise whole classes in the absence of the class teacher. • Deliver pre-prepared lesson materials and instructions. • Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies. • Ensure a safe, positive, and productive learning environment. • Support students with their learning and encourage participation. • Record attendance and report any issues or concerns to teaching staff. • Build positive relationships with students and school staff. The Ideal Cover Supervisor Will Have • Experience working with young people in an educational, coaching, mentoring, youth work, or similar setting. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. • Strong behaviour management and organisational abilities. • Confidence leading groups of students and maintaining classroom engagement. • A flexible, resilient, and professional approach. • An enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply through GSL Education.
