Cover Supervisor – Kings Norton Start Date: September Location: Kings Norton, Birmingham & surrounding areas Contract: Full-time and Part-time opportunities Pay: Competitive, dependent on experience About the Role Zest Education is recruiting motivated and confident Cover Supervisors to work across a range of secondary schools in Kings Norton and the wider Birmingham area. This is an excellent opportunity for graduates or individuals with experience supporting young people—such as through coaching, tutoring, youth work, mentoring, or voluntary roles—who are considering a future career in teaching. We work closely with friendly, forward‑thinking secondary schools across Birmingham, many of which have ongoing requirements for reliable Cover Supervisors. As a result, immediate starts are available for candidates ready to make a positive impact in the classroom. The Role As a Cover Supervisor, you will: * Deliver pre‑planned lessons across a range of subjects * Maintain a positive and focused learning environment * Encourage pupil engagement and ensure students remain on task * Manage behaviour in line with school policies * Provide clear, written feedback for the classroom teacher The Ideal Candidate We welcome applicants who have: * Strong communication and interpersonal skills * A genuine interest in supporting young people * Good literacy and numeracy skills * Confidence working across different subjects and year groups * Classroom experience (desirable but not essential) To be considered, candidates must have a minimum of 20 days’ experience working with children or young people within the last 5 years, or be a recent graduate. We particularly encourage applicants from backgrounds such as: * University graduates * Sports coaches * Youth workers or mentors * Dance or drama instructors * Scouts or youth group leaders These roles provide excellent transferable skills for classroom supervision.
