Position: English Teacher Location: Middlesbrough Contract: Full-Time Start Date: September Key Stages: KS3–KS4 (KS5 available depending on experience) English Teaching Role in a Coastal Secondary School A secondary school in Middlesbrough is seeking to appoint an English Teacher to join its department from September. This is a full-time role within a school that is committed to improving literacy, raising attainment, and supporting student progress across all year groups. English is a core subject within the curriculum, with students encouraged to develop confidence in reading, writing, and communication. About the Role You will teach English across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, delivering lessons in both English Language and English Literature. Students will study a range of prose, poetry, drama, and non-fiction texts while developing analytical thinking, written communication, and interpretation skills. You will prepare students for GCSE English examinations, supporting them in developing exam technique and confidence in extended writing. Depending on experience, there may be opportunities to contribute to Key Stage 5 teaching. You will work collaboratively within the department to maintain high standards of teaching and assessment.
