Thinking of a career in Teaching? We are looking for enthusiastic graduates to join us as Teaching Assistants with a view to joining the SCITT scheme in 2027. This is an exciting opportunity to gain invaluable insight into a truly rewarding career! We are looking for enthusiastic graduates to join us as Teaching Assistants, working 5 days a week. You will work under the guidance of class teachers to provide teaching support both inside and outside of the classroom. The role includes working with groups of children, supporting children with special educational needs, assisting with displays of pupils work, preparation of learning materials, supervising pupils during break and lunch times. You will gain invaluable experience and training, and the option of applying for the SCITT (School Centred Initial Teacher Training) programme starting in September 2027. The post is fixed term until 31st August 2027. The successful candidate will have: A real love of children Excellent communication skills Plenty of energy and enthusiasm A desire to undertake teacher training in the future 30.83 hours per week 38 weeks per year (term time only) The Raleigh School, a member of the South Farnham Educational Trust, is a friendly, popular two form entry primary school located in the village of West Horsley. The school consistently secures strong pupil attainment and progress, including for those with special educational needs. The OFSTED report (March 2023) graded the School as Outstanding. South Farnham Educational Trust is a multi-academy trust which currently consists of seven schools, South Farnham School, Highfield South Farnham School, The Raleigh School, Busbridge Infant School, Great Bookham School, Wallace Fields Infant & Nursery School and Brighton Hill Community School. We also have an associate member of the Trust - St Mary's C of E (Aided) Infant School. Our thriving School Centred Initial Teacher Training establishment (SCITT) has over 100 trainees and from September 2021 South Farnham School was awarded Teaching School Hub status which is a fantastic accolade for both the school and Trust. The position requires good interpersonal skills and a strong desire to develop and support children in all areas of school life. The successful candidate will also be given a contract for 30 minutes Midday Supervision five days a week. Please note that we may choose to interview strong candidates on receipt of their forms so early application is advised.
