Short-Term History Teacher Location: South London Contract Type: Fixed-Term / Short-Term Supply Start Date: September 2026 (or sooner) Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience The Role We are seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable History Teacher to join a high-achieving secondary school for girls on a short-term basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate educator to inspire students across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the potential for Key Stage 5 teaching for suitably experienced candidates. The successful applicant will deliver engaging and challenging lessons, foster a love of History, and contribute positively to the life of a thriving and ambitious school community. Key Responsibilities • Plan and deliver high-quality History lessons in line with the national curriculum. • Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes outstanding student progress. • Assess, monitor, and report on student achievement. • Differentiate teaching to meet the needs of all learners. • Maintain high standards of behaviour and classroom management. • Work collaboratively with colleagues within the Humanities department and across the wider school. The Ideal Candidate Will Have • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent. • Experience teaching History at secondary level. • Strong subject knowledge and a passion for History. • Excellent communication and organisational skills. • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people. • The ability to motivate and inspire students to achieve their full potential.
