Learning Support Assistant 1 year - Fixed-term contract 35 hpw/ start/end date (24/08/2026 -02/07/2027) Salary: £26,803 - £27,597 Pro Rata, Term Time only + Training & Development + First Aid Training Location: Bromley and surrounding areas Are you passionate about supporting young people and adults with Special Educational Needs (SEN)? This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established further education college where you will play a vital role in helping learners achieve their educational goals, develop independence, and access every aspect of college life. Working closely with curriculum staff and the Learning Support team, you will provide one-to-one and small group support, remove barriers to learning, and contribute to creating an inclusive environment where every learner can thrive. The ideal candidate will have experience supporting learners with SEN or additional needs, excellent communication skills, and a caring, patient approach. Applications are welcomed from candidates with backgrounds in education, care, youth work, support work, or similar sectors. The Role: Provide learning and accessibility support for learners with Special Educational Needs (SEN)
Support students to access learning programmes, college services and enrichment activities
Assist with personal care, mobility and wellbeing where required
Help learners develop independence, study skills and self-advocacy
Support the implementation and review of individual support plans and EHCP outcomes
Work collaboratively with teaching staff, parents, carers and external agencies
Ensure assistive technology and specialist equipment are available and operational
Act as a College First Aider (training provided if required)The Person: Experience supporting learners with SEN, additional needs or vulnerable individuals
Good standard of general education with Level 2 English and Maths (or willingness to achieve)
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Able to build positive relationships with learners, colleagues and external stakeholders
Team player with a proactive and flexible approach
Comfortable supporting learners with personal care and mobility where required
Committed to safeguarding, equality, diversity and inclusion
