Learning Support Assistant SEMH School Setting Location: Derby (DE3) Pay Scale: £410 - £440 Take Home Per Week Hours: Monday to Friday, 8.40am - 15.40pm Duration: Long-term to permanent Start Date: 2nd September 2026 The Opportunity: We are seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join a welcoming all through SEMH provision school in Derby (DE3). This role involves supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) across a range of subjects, including Maths, English, Science, and other core curriculum areas. This is a full-time, temp to perm position starting in September 2026. Key Responsibilities: Provide tailored 1:1 and small group support across a range of subjects, including Maths and English Support pupils to access learning through personalised strategies that meet their academic, social, and emotional needs Build positive, trusting relationships that promote engagement, emotional regulation, and positive behaviour Assist pupils in developing confidence, resilience, independence, and essential life skills both inside and outside the classroom Monitor pupil progress and provide regular feedback to teaching staff to help adapt support strategies and intervention plansWho We're Looking For: Level 3 qualification minimum and essential Experience working with SEN students, ideally within a secondary school setting A patient, flexible, and nurturing approach to supporting young people Strong communication skills to work collaboratively with teachers, SEN staff, and students As a learning support assistant, you must have a clear commitment to safeguarding and student wellbeing Someone who can commit to full time hours, Monday to Friday, 8.40am - 15.40pm with the opportunity to progress into a permanent role.Why Work with Long Term Futures?
