About the role

Academics are currently seeking dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistants to join our team for temporary work across Hemek Hempstead and the surrounding areas. Learning Support Assistant (LSA) within Hemel Hempstead Job Description: As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with students who require additional support to help them achieve their full potential. Your primary responsibilities will include: • Providing one-on-one assistance to students with learning difficulties or disabilities, both in and out of the classroom. • Supporting the classroom teacher in implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) and adapting teaching materials to meet the diverse needs of students. • Assisting with classroom management and ensuring a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students. • Monitoring student progress and providing feedback to the teacher and parents/guardians as required. • Collaborating with other members of the school staff, including special education teachers, counsellors, and therapists, to ensure a coordinated approach to student support. Requirements: • Previous experience working with children or young adults in an educational or childcare setting preferred. • Knowledge of special educational needs (SEN) and strategies for supporting students with diverse learning needs. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, teachers, and parents/guardians. • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for helping students overcome challenges and reach their full potential. • Relevant qualifications or certifications in education, childcare, or special education preferred but not essential.
