Learning Support Assistant

A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Islington is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join their team from September 2026. This is a fantastic opportunity for a committed Learning Support Assistant who is passionate about helping children reach their full potential. The successful candidate will work closely with class teachers and the SENCO to support pupils with a range of learning needs, ensuring they can access the curriculum and thrive within the classroom. The successful candidate will: Have previous experience working as a Learning Support Assistant or Teaching Assistant within a primary school Have experience supporting children with a range of additional learning needs, including SEND Be confident supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis, in small groups, and within the classroom Have a patient, caring, and positive approach to supporting children's learning and development Demonstrate excellent communication and behaviour management skills Be proactive, reliable, and committed to creating an inclusive learning environment The role will involve: Supporting pupils with their learning across the primary curriculum Delivering targeted interventions under the guidance of the class teacher and SENCO Assisting pupils with additional learning, communication, and social needs Encouraging independence, confidence, and active participation in lessons Supporting positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing Working collaboratively with teachers, parents, and external professionals to achieve the best outcomes for pupils The school offers: A supportive and experienced leadership team A welcoming and inclusive school community Excellent opportunities for training and career development Friendly and collaborative staff Well-resourced classrooms and learning environments Excellent transport links across Islington and surrounding areasPosition: Learning Support Assistant (LSA) Location: Islington Start Date: September 2026 Contract: Long-Term (with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate) Salary: £95-£110 per day (dependent on experience) Interviews and trial days are taking place throughout the summer.
