About the role

Classroom Support is proud to be working in partnership with a large, well-established independent SEN school on the outskirts of Ashford. We are currently recruiting experienced and dedicated Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) to join the school throughout September and October. This co-educational day school provides specialist education for pupils across Key Stages 1 to 4 with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs). Students have a range of additional needs, including Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), and associated learning needs. About the Role As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils both academically and emotionally, helping them to thrive in a structured and nurturing environment. Your responsibilities will include: * Providing 1:1 and small group support to pupils with additional needs. * Working alongside the class teacher to deliver engaging and accessible learning. * Supporting pupils in line with their Individual Education Plans (IEPs). * Encouraging positive behaviour and helping pupils develop social and emotional skills. * Managing challenging behaviour using positive behaviour support strategies. * Promoting independence, confidence, and engagement both inside and outside the classroom. About You To be considered for this role, you will have: * Previous experience working with children or young people with Special Educational Needs. * Experience supporting pupils with SEMH, ASD, MLD, or other additional learning needs. * A calm, patient, and resilient approach to behaviour management. * A genuine passion for helping young people overcome barriers to learning and reach their full potential. * Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team. Candidates with backgrounds in education, youth work, care, support work, or similar settings are also encouraged to apply, provided they have relevant SEN experience.
