Learning Support Assistant (SEN Provision) Mainstream Primary School – UB7 Start Date: As soon as possible Contract: Full-time (Term Time Only) About the Role We are recruiting a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistant to join the SEN Provision within a welcoming three-form entry mainstream primary school in UB7. This role involves supporting pupils with a range of additional needs, helping them to access learning, develop independence, and achieve their full potential in a nurturing environment. You will work closely with the SEN team and class teachers to deliver tailored support, both on a 1:1 basis and in small groups. The role will involve supporting pupils with their personal care needs where required, so we are looking for someone who is comfortable providing this level of support with dignity, patience, and sensitivity. Key Responsibilities * Provide tailored support to pupils within the school's SEN Provision. * Work 1:1 and with small groups to support learning and development. * Assist pupils in accessing the curriculum through adapted resources and activities. * Support pupils with communication, social interaction, emotional regulation, and behaviour. * Provide personal care where required, ensuring pupils' dignity and wellbeing are maintained at all times. * Promote independence, confidence, and positive relationships. * Work collaboratively with teachers, the SENCo, therapists, and other professionals. * Record observations and contribute to pupil progress and wellbeing. The Ideal Candidate Will Have * Experience working with children with Special Educational Needs, either in a school or similar setting (desirable). * A caring, patient, and resilient approach. * Confidence supporting pupils with a range of additional needs. * A willingness to provide personal care as part of the role. * Excellent communication and teamwork skills. * A flexible and proactive attitude. * An enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or be willing to obtain one. * A relevant Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable but not essential.
