Job description

Premises & Maintenance Operative 37 hours per week all year - alternating shift patterns Working under the direction of the Premises & Maintenance Leader, you will support the day-to-day operation, maintenance, and upkeep of the school buildings and grounds. Key Responsibilities Carry out a wide range of general maintenance and repair tasks Respond to maintenance requests and support planned preventative maintenance Assist in maintaining a clean, safe, and secure school environment Conduct routine checks of the site, identifying and reporting defects Support site security, including locking/unlocking where requiredWork collaboratively with colleagues and external contractors About You We are looking for someone who: Has experience in general maintenance, caretaking, or a relevant trade Can carry out basic repairs (e.g. plumbing, decorating, minor electrical work) Is proactive, organised, and able to prioritise tasks effectively Takes pride in maintaining high standards Has a flexible and positive approach to work Is able to work independently and as part of a team Experience in a school or large site environment is desirable but not essential.
