Subject: Mathematics (A-Level) Location: Scarborough Contract: Full-Time Start Date: September Setting: Sixth Form College Teaching Focus: A-Level Mathematics & Further Mathematics (where applicable) Specialist A-Level Teaching Opportunity A respected sixth form college in Scarborough is seeking a knowledgeable and dedicated A-Level Maths Teacher to join its Mathematics department from September . This role is focused on delivering high-quality post-16 education to students preparing for university pathways, apprenticeships, and careers in STEM-related fields. This is an excellent opportunity for a subject specialist who enjoys teaching advanced mathematical concepts and supporting academically focused learners. The Role in Focus Teaching at A-Level requires depth of subject knowledge and the ability to break down complex mathematical ideas into clear, structured learning steps. In this role, you will teach A-Level Mathematics , with the possibility of contributing to Further Mathematics depending on experience. Students within the college are typically motivated and engaged, creating a positive environment for delivering focused, academic lessons. You will guide learners through core areas such as algebra, calculus, statistics, and mechanics, ensuring they build both confidence and technical accuracy. There is also an expectation that you will support students through revision strategies and examination preparation as they approach final assessments. Teaching & Academic Responsibilities Within this post-16 setting, your role will include: • Delivering structured A-Level Mathematics lessons • Supporting students preparing for university-level study • Assessing student progress through regular testing and feedback • Providing targeted intervention sessions where required • Supporting revision programmes ahead of examinations • Contributing to departmental planning and curriculum development Teachers are encouraged to maintain high academic expectations while supporting students to develop independent study habits.
