Pastoral Support Assistant – SEMH School – Epping | September Start Are you passionate about supporting children and young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs to overcome challenges and develop the confidence they need to succeed? We are working with a specialist SEMH school in Epping that is looking to appoint a dedicated and compassionate Pastoral Support Assistant to join their supportive team from September. This specialist school supports pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs , providing a structured, nurturing, and inclusive environment where emotional wellbeing, positive relationships, and personal development are at the heart of everything they do. The school is committed to helping pupils build resilience, develop self-regulation skills, and re-engage with education. As a Pastoral Support Assistant, you will work closely with teachers, pastoral teams, and wider support staff to provide individualised support for pupils throughout the school day. You will help pupils manage their emotions, develop positive coping strategies, improve confidence, and overcome barriers that may impact their learning and wellbeing. The ideal candidate will: • Have experience supporting children or young people with SEMH needs, SEND, or challenging behaviour • Be calm, patient, and resilient when supporting pupils through difficult situations • Have excellent communication skills and the ability to build trusting relationships • Be passionate about supporting young people’s emotional wellbeing and personal development • Be consistent, approachable, and able to work effectively as part of a supportive team This is a rewarding opportunity to join a dedicated SEMH school where you can make a lasting difference in the lives of young people.
