SEN Teacher Location: Portsmouth, Hampshire Salary: £162 - £251 per day (Dependent on Experience) Contract: Full-Time | Long-Term Start Date: September 2026 Application Closing Date: 21st August 2026 Supply Desk are seeking a dedicated and passionate SEN Teacher to join one of our welcoming specialist schools in Portsmouth. This is a fantastic opportunity to inspire and support children with Special Educational Needs within a nurturing and well-resourced learning environment. The successful candidate will deliver engaging, personalised lessons that enable pupils with additional needs to develop academically, socially and emotionally while building confidence and independence. Key Responsibilities • Plan and deliver differentiated lessons to meet individual learning needs. • Support pupils with Autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH, Speech and Language needs and learning difficulties. • Create a safe, engaging and inclusive classroom environment. • Monitor progress in line with EHCP outcomes. • Work collaboratively with Teaching Assistants, therapists and families. • Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing. • Adapt teaching methods to maximise pupil engagement and achievement. • Encourage pupils to develop confidence, independence and life skills. Requirements • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent. • Experience working with pupils with SEND or a strong interest in specialist education. • Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills. • Patient, adaptable and compassionate approach. • Strong communication and teamwork skills. • Committed to inclusive education and pupil success.
