SEN Teaching Assistant - Specialist Resource Provision - Barking Full Time | Term Time Only | September 2026 Start Up to £120 per day | Long Term Role (Temp to Perm) | Multiple Vacancies Available Long Term Futures are recruiting a number of enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistants to join a mainstream secondary school in Barking with a well-established Specialist Resource Provision (SRP) supporting students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and additional learning needs. This is a unique opportunity to work within both the specialist provision and the mainstream school, giving you a varied role where no two days are the same. Depending on the needs of the students, you may be supporting within the dedicated ASD provision, delivering targeted interventions, or working alongside teachers in mainstream classrooms to ensure students can fully access the curriculum. Multiple positions are available, with trial days beginning next week ahead of September starts. Recruitment will close as soon as the successful candidates have been identified. Key Responsibilities: Support students with ASD and Special Educational Needs (SEN) across the specialist provision and mainstream classrooms Provide 1:1 and small-group support to help students access learning Assist teachers in delivering engaging lessons across KS3 and KS4 Implement strategies from EHCPs and individual learning plans Support communication, emotional regulation and positive behaviour Encourage independence, confidence and social development throughout the school day Ideal Candidate Will Have: Experience supporting children or young people with ASD, Autism or Special Educational Needs (SEN) Confidence working in a mainstream secondary school or specialist provision A patient, proactive and adaptable approach Excellent communication and relationship-building skills Understanding of safeguarding and inclusive education A genuine passion for helping young people achieve their full potential Location & Transport - Barking, East London Accessible via Barking Station (District, Hammersmith & City, Overground and C2C services) Close to Upney and Becontree (District Line) Bus routes: 5, 62, 145, 169, 173, 287, EL1, EL2 Excellent transport links from Ilford, Dagenham, Romford, Stratford and Central London Why Work with Long Term Futures Weekly pay - up to £120 per day Multiple September vacancies available Trial days beginning next week Long-term temp-to-perm opportunities Free CPD including Autism, SEN, behaviour management and safeguarding Opportunity to gain experience in both a specialist provision and mainstream secondary school Dedicated consultant support from SEND specialists If you're looking to build a rewarding career in SEN education and want to gain experience in both a specialist resource provision and mainstream secondary setting, apply today with Long Term Futures.
