Academics is recruiting enthusiastic and caring SEN Teaching Assistants to work in outstanding specialist schools across Mid Sussex , including Haywards Heath, Burgess Hill, East Grinstead, Hassocks and the surrounding areas . Whether you're an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant or have worked in care, support work, youth work or with children and young people, we'd love to hear from you. The Role As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you'll play a vital role in supporting pupils with a range of additional needs, including: • Autism (ASC) • ADHD • SEMH (Social, Emotional & Mental Health) • Speech & Language needs • Moderate and Severe Learning Difficulties • Complex Needs You'll provide support on a 1:1 basis and in small groups , helping pupils build confidence, develop independence and reach their full potential in a safe and nurturing learning environment. What We're Looking For • Minimum of 6 months' experience supporting children or young people with additional needs. • A caring, patient and resilient attitude. • Excellent communication and teamwork skills. • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one. • Two professional references.
