We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated SEN Sports Coach to join our schools in Wickford immediately. This role is ideal for individuals who are committed to using sports and physical activity to engage and support students with Special Educational Needs (SEN). Key Responsibilities • Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality sports coaching sessions for children and young people aged 4-16. • Deliver PE lessons that align with the National Curriculum where required. • Lead breakfast clubs, lunchtime activities, after-school clubs, and holiday camp programmes. • Coach a variety of sports including football, basketball, cricket, athletics, dodgeball, tag rugby, tennis, rounders, netball, and multi-skills activities. • Adapt coaching sessions to suit different ages, abilities, and learning needs, ensuring every participant feels included and supported. • Create a positive, safe, and enjoyable learning environment that encourages participation, teamwork, resilience, and respect. • Assess participant progress and provide constructive feedback to help develop confidence and sporting ability. • Maintain accurate attendance registers and complete any required session reports. • Set up, maintain, and safely store sports equipment before and after sessions. • Follow all safeguarding, health and safety, risk assessment, and company policies at all times. • Build positive relationships with pupils, teachers, parents, schools, and community partners. • Represent the organisation professionally and maintain high standards of behaviour and appearance. Essential Requirements • Experience coaching or teaching children in a school, club, or community environment. • A recognised Level 2 Coaching Qualification (or equivalent) in any sport, or relevant sports coaching experience. • Knowledge of delivering engaging and inclusive coaching sessions. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. • Passion for inspiring children through sport and physical activity. • Reliable, punctual, and organised. • Enhanced DBS certificate (or willingness to obtain one). • Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle. Desirable Qualifications & Experience • Level 3 Coaching Qualification. • Degree in Sport, Physical Education, Coaching, or a related subject. • Emergency First Aid at Work qualification. • Safeguarding and Protecting Children certification. • Experience working with children with SEND. • Experience delivering PE lessons within primary schools. • Experience leading holiday camps or extracurricular sports programmes.
