Teaching Assistant

Brixington Primary Academy are looking for 3 enthusiastic, flexible and highly motivated individuals to work alongside the class teacher across all areas of the curriculum. The roles will be based in either EYFS, KS1 or KS2 depending on the successful applicants. The ideal candidate will: Build a strong, trusting relationship with a pupil who requires consistent, nurturing and emotionally attuned adult support to engage successfully in school. Support emotional regulation throughout the school day, using co-regulation strategies, sensory approaches and calm, predictable routines. Use visual supports, clear communication and structured transitions to help the pupil understand expectations and access learning. Adapt learning activities to the pupil's interests, engagement levels and preferred multi-sensory learning styles, working closely with the class teacher and SENDCo. Facilitate positive social interaction with peers, modelling communication skills, turn-taking and cooperative play. Provide regular sensory and movement breaks, maintaining a safe environment and responding flexibly to changing emotional and sensory needs We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff to share this commitment.
