Job Title: Teaching Assistants Area: Monmouth, Monmouthshire Start Date: September 2026 Contract Type: Ongoing (Temporary to Permanent) Salary: £95 - £108 per day Working Hours: 08:30am - 15:30pm About the School A well-regarded, mixed secondary school in Monmouth, Monmouthshire. The school prides itself on high expectations, strong academic achievement, and a supportive learning environment. Serving a diverse community of students aged 11-16, the school offers a broad curriculum alongside a wide range of enrichment opportunities, helping students develop academically, socially, and personally in preparation for future success. About the Role The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting students academic progress, emotional well-being, organisation, and self-regulation, helping them navigate the demands of secondary school while building confidence and independence.We're looking for a patient and resilient individual who can develop a positive and trusting relationship with the students while maintaining high expectations and promoting positive outcomes. Key Responsibilities • Support the students in maintaining focus, engagement, and participation during lessons • Implement strategies to support attention, organisation, time management, and emotional regulation • Help manage transitions between lessons and different school environments • Promote positive behaviour and support the student in meeting individual targets • Build a strong, professional relationship with the student based on trust, consistency, and encouragement • Monitor and report on the student's progress, well-being, and engagement Requirements • Experience supporting children or young people with ADHD, SEMH needs, or other SEND requirements • A strong understanding of ADHD and the strategies that support attention, engagement, and emotional regulation • Strong behaviour management, communication and teamwork skills • Experience working within a secondary school setting (desirable) • Relevant qualifications in Education, Psychology, Youth Work, SEND, or a related field would be advantageous but are not essential • A genuine passion for supporting young people to overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential A commitment to supporting student well-being, promoting positive behaviour, and helping young people achieve successful outcomes is essential.Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
