Key Responsibilities • Plan, deliver, and assess high-quality lessons across the Year 1 curriculum • Deliver engaging literacy, numeracy, and foundation subject lessons • Support pupils transitioning from EYFS to Key Stage 1 • Differentiate learning to meet the needs of all pupils, including SEND and EAL • Promote independence, confidence, and positive learning behaviours • Maintain a structured, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment • Track pupil progress and maintain accurate assessment records • Work collaboratively with teaching assistants and Key Stage 1 colleagues • Communicate effectively with parents and carers regarding pupil progress • Contribute to staff meetings, CPD sessions, and whole-school initiatives • Support school events, enrichment activities, and extra-curricular opportunities • Ensure safeguarding and child protection procedures are followed at all times The Ideal Candidate The successful candidate will: • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) • Have experience teaching Key Stage 1, ideally Year 1 • Demonstrate excellent classroom management and organisational skills • Be nurturing, reflective, and adaptable • Show a strong commitment to inclusion, safeguarding, and pupil wellbeing • Work collaboratively as part of a professional, supportive team The school is located in Cheltenham, with excellent transport links and a supportive local community.
