The Role As a Year 3 Teacher, you will plan, deliver, and assess lessons that challenge pupils while supporting all abilities. Supporting pupils’ social, emotional, and behavioural development is a key part of the role, helping them build resilience, confidence, and independence. You will work closely with teaching assistants, colleagues, and phase leaders to maintain continuity and high standards across Key Stage 2. Communication with parents and carers will also be essential, keeping them informed about pupils’ progress and achievements. Key Responsibilities • Plan, deliver, and assess high-quality lessons across the Year 3 curriculum • Monitor and track pupil progress using assessment to inform planning • Differentiate learning to meet the needs of all pupils, including SEND and EAL learners • Maintain a safe, structured, and inclusive classroom environment • Promote positive behaviour, resilience, and independence • Collaborate with teaching assistants and KS2 colleagues • Communicate effectively with parents and carers • Participate in staff meetings, CPD, and whole-school initiatives The Ideal Candidate The successful applicant will: • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) • Have experience teaching Key Stage 2, ideally Year 3 • Be confident in curriculum delivery, assessment, and differentiation • Have excellent classroom management and organisational skills • Be reflective, proactive, and adaptable • Be committed to inclusive practice and safeguarding • Have a positive, professional approach to teamwork Early Career Teachers are encouraged to apply and will be supported with mentoring.
