About the Role
As the Year 5 Class Teacher , you will take full responsibility for a Year 5 class, delivering high-quality teaching across the curriculum in line with the National Curriculum. You will play a key role in developing pupils’ subject knowledge, learning behaviours, and readiness for Year 6.
You will be expected to plan engaging and well-structured lessons that challenge and support pupils of varying abilities. A strong emphasis is placed on English and mathematics, alongside a broad and creative curriculum that promotes curiosity and critical thinking.
You will work closely with teaching assistants, the Upper Key Stage 2 team, and senior leaders to monitor progress, implement interventions, and support pupils’ academic and emotional development.
This role is suitable for both experienced KS2 teachers and confident Early Career Teachers (ECTs) who are keen to develop their practice within a supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities
Your responsibilities as a Year 5 Teacher will include:
• Planning, delivering, and evaluating high-quality lessons across the curriculum
• Teaching reading, writing, grammar, and mathematics to a high standard
• Creating an inclusive, engaging, and well-managed classroom environment
• Using assessment to track progress and inform future planning
