Responsibilities of a Year 6 teacher:
· As a Year 6 teacher you will be responsible for the pastoral care of children taking their first steps in Key Stage 2, promoting teamwork, and cultivating a conducive learning environment.
· Teaching the Key Stage 2 curriculum to groups of children while also focusing on each individual child's learning targets, encouraging their strengths, and improving their weaknesses
· Further developing maths ability and introducing fractions, statistics, and geometry
· Help children develop their writing ability by creating plots, characters, and settings for stories.
· Keeping track of children's progress and occasionally reporting back to parents
Year 6 Teacher requirements:
· QTS, PGCE and strong academic record
· Creative, imaginative, determined, resourceful and adaptable practitioner
· Passionate about learning
· Able to demonstrate a track record of success within a Year 6 environment
· Able to communicate your passion to children and parents
· Ability to demonstrate outstanding practice in the classroom

Lead Pupils Through Their Final Year of Primary Education

The Role

The Ideal Candidate
The successful applicant will:
• Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• Have experience teaching Upper Key Stage 2, ideally Year 6
• Be confident in assessment, curriculum delivery, and differentiation
• Possess excellent classroom management and organisational skills
• Be reflective, adaptable, and proactive
• Demonstrate commitment to inclusive practice and safeguarding
• Have a positive, professional approach to teamwork
Early Career Teachers with Upper KS2 experience are welcome and will be supported with mentoring.
