Learning Support Assistant - SEN Schools Cheltenham Full-Time | Term Time Only £14.24 per hour (PAYE) Vision for Education is looking to recruit a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to work within a range of welcoming SEN schools across Cheltenham. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working closely with children and young people who need additional support to reach their full potential. As a Learning Support Assistant , you'll become an important part of the school day, helping pupils with a variety of additional needs including autism, ADHD, SEMH and moderate learning difficulties. Every day is different, and you'll play a key role in helping pupils feel supported, confident and engaged in their learning. This is a full-time, term-time only position, working Monday to Friday from 8:30am to 3:30pm. You'll initially be employed through Vision for Education on a flexible contract, with many schools offering permanent opportunities for the right person. The Role As a Learning Support Assistant , your responsibilities may include: • Providing 1:1 support for pupils with additional needs. • Supporting small group activities and classroom learning. • Encouraging communication, independence and confidence. • Helping pupils regulate their emotions and engage positively throughout the school day. • Working alongside teachers, therapists and other support staff to deliver tailored support. • Creating a calm, positive and inclusive learning environment where every pupil can succeed. The Ideal Learning Support Assistant We're looking for someone who: • Has a genuine passion for supporting children and young people with additional needs. • Is patient, resilient and able to remain calm in challenging situations. • Builds positive relationships quickly with pupils and colleagues. • Has experience working with children, young people or vulnerable adults (this could be in education, care, youth work or a similar setting). • Holds an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or is happy to apply for one through Vision for Education.
