Position: Biology Teacher Location: Portsmouth Contract: Full-Time Start Date: September Key Stages: KS3–KS5 Biology Teaching Role in an Outstanding Secondary School An outstanding secondary school in Portsmouth is seeking to appoint a Biology Teacher to join its Science department from September. This is a full-time role within a high-performing school that values academic excellence, scientific curiosity, and strong outcomes in STEM education. Biology is a successful and popular subject within the school, with strong uptake at GCSE and A-Level. Students are encouraged to develop investigative skills, scientific reasoning, and a deeper understanding of biological systems. About the Role You will teach Biology across Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4, and Key Stage 5, delivering engaging lessons that develop students’ scientific understanding and analytical thinking. The role includes both theoretical and practical laboratory teaching, helping students build confidence in experimentation, research, and data analysis. You will prepare students for GCSE and A-Level Biology examinations, supporting them in developing strong subject knowledge, scientific writing, and exam technique. You will work collaboratively within a successful Science department to maintain high standards of teaching and learning.
