Location: Grimsby
Pay: Up to £650 per week
Hours: Full Time and Part Time hours available

About The Role
Connex Education are recruiting for a dedicated and enthusiastic Cover Supervisor to join a successful and inclusive secondary academy in Grimsby. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who is passionate about supporting young people and wants to play an important role in creating a positive classroom environment where students are encouraged to engage, achieve and develop confidence. As a Cover Supervisor, you will provide continuity of learning by delivering pre-planned lessons across a range of subjects in the absence of the class teacher. You will support students to remain focused on their learning, establish a calm and purposeful classroom environment and manage behaviour consistently in line with the academy’s expectations. The successful candidate will be confident working with students aged 11–16, able to build positive and respectful relationships and provide encouragement to help students achieve their best. You will work closely with teaching staff to support student progress, provide feedback following lessons and contribute to a consistent and supportive learning experience across the academy. You will be organised, adaptable and approachable, with strong communication skills and a genuine desire to make a positive difference to young people. This role would suit graduates considering a career in teaching, experienced Cover Supervisors, Teaching Assistants, Learning Mentors or individuals with experience working with young people in an educational setting.

Person Specification
To be considered for this role, candidates must have / be able to demonstrate:
• Degree OR GCSE English and Maths (Grade C/4 or above in both, or equivalent Functional Skills Level 2).
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills with pupils and staff.
• The ability to build positive and respectful relationships with pupils.
• A positive and enthusiastic attitude towards supporting pupil progress and school life.
• Good literacy and numeracy skills to support learning and classroom administration.
• The ability to maintain a calm, purposeful and positive learning environment.
• An understanding of safeguarding, confidentiality and professional boundaries within a school setting.
• Adaptability and resilience when working across different subjects and year groups.
• High standards of professional behaviour, presentation and integrity.
• A willingness to engage in professional development and respond positively to feedback.
• Completion of the Connex Education / Academize Effective Cover Supervision training course (access will be provided to all suitable applicants).
• A full enhanced DBS certificate.
• Completion of the Connex Education onboarding process.
