Higher Level Teaching Assistant An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, hardworking and caring HLTA to join our school team to support children within a specific phase (to be determined based on the experience of the successful candidate) in teaching small groups, delivering whole-class teaching and covering PPA time. St Thomas More Catholic Primary School is an inclusive, diverse and over-subscribed school, serving the community of Eastfield and the St Peter and All Souls Parish. As a school, we are committed to the professional development of all staff through professional learning cycles. We are committed to ensuring that practical approaches to workload are put in place to support all staff and this commitment is realised through a Trust-level and school-level wellbeing charter. Working hours: Monday-Friday 8:30-15:30 (until 16:30 one day per week for professional development), term time only. There may be times when attendance is required for training and professional development. Key Responsibilities: Teaching and Learning: Plan, prepare, and deliver learning activities to individual pupils, groups, or whole classes under the guidance of a teacher. Use strategies to support pupils in achieving learning goals. Assess, record, and report on pupils' progress. Establish productive working relationships with pupils, acting as a role model. Classroom Management: Manage pupil behaviour constructively and promote positive behaviour, in line with school policy. Supervise and provide support for pupils, including those with special educational needs. Assist with the supervision of pupils during out-of-class activities, including trips and visits. Curriculum Support: Organise and manage learning resources. Liaise with parents and external professionals when necessary. Work closely with teaching staff and contribute to planning. Administrative Support: Maintain records of pupil progress and contribute to reports. Provide feedback to teachers and attend staff meetings as required. The successful applicant will be required to undertake an enhanced DBS check, online checks and provide references.
