We are seeking an enthusiastic, talented and dedicated Music Teacher to join a thriving secondary school in Preston (PR3) from September 2026 . This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced educator who is passionate about delivering high-quality music education and inspiring students across Key Stages 3 and 4.
The successful candidate will play a key role within the Music Department, delivering engaging and challenging lessons while contributing to the continued development of a broad and ambitious curriculum.
Key Responsibilities
• Plan and deliver outstanding Music lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4.
• Develop and implement engaging schemes of work aligned with the National Curriculum and GCSE specifications.
• Assess, monitor and track student progress, ensuring all learners achieve their full potential.
• Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages creativity and musical excellence.
• Organise and support performances, concerts, ensembles and extracurricular music activities.
• Collaborate with colleagues to develop innovative teaching practices and curriculum resources.
• Contribute to whole-school initiatives and departmental improvement plans.
The Successful Candidate Will Have
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
• Experience teaching Music within a UK secondary school setting.
• Proven experience in writing and developing schemes of work for Key Stages 3 and 4 .
• Strong subject knowledge and an ability to deliver engaging and inspirational lessons.
• Experience preparing students for GCSE Music examinations.
• Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
• A commitment to raising achievement and promoting a love of music among young people.
