Music Teacher – Greenwich We are seeking a passionate and creative Music Teacher to join a highly regarded secondary school in Greenwich. As a Music Teacher , you will deliver engaging and inspiring lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 , with opportunities to teach Key Stage 5 where appropriate. You will join a supportive Creative Arts department that values innovation, collaboration, and providing students with a wide range of musical experiences, both within the classroom and through extracurricular activities. Key Responsibilities • Plan and deliver engaging, creative, and differentiated Music lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4. • Teach Key Stage 5 Music where appropriate, depending on experience and departmental requirements. • Inspire students to develop their musical knowledge, practical performance skills, composition, and appreciation of a wide range of musical genres. • Assess, monitor, and track student progress, using assessment effectively to inform planning and raise attainment. • Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment where all students can thrive. • Maintain high standards of behaviour, engagement, and achievement. • Contribute to curriculum development and the continued success of the Music department. • Support and lead extracurricular music activities, including choirs, ensembles, concerts, productions, or school performances where appropriate. • Work collaboratively with colleagues to enhance teaching and learning across the department. • Ensure safeguarding procedures and school policies are followed at all times. Essential Criteria • UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential. • The ability to teach Music across Key Stages 3 and 4. • Strong subject knowledge and a passion for music education. • Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills. • The ability to deliver engaging, inclusive, and differentiated lessons. • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. Preferred Criteria • Experience teaching Key Stage 5 Music . • Experience leading or supporting choirs, ensembles, orchestras, or other extracurricular music activities. • The ability to teach practical and theoretical aspects of the Music curriculum. • Experience preparing students for GCSE and A Level Music examinations. • A passion for continuous professional development and collaborative working. This role would suit an experienced Music Teacher looking for a new opportunity, as well as an ambitious ECT seeking a supportive environment in which to begin their teaching career.
