    Supply / Temporary Teaching Assistant – SEN Support (Primary) • Location: Plymouth, Mainstream Primary School • Job Type: Temporary / Supply • Hours: Monday to Thursday: 8:30am – 3:30pm, Friday: Morning only We are seeking an experienced or confident Supply / Temporary Teaching Assistant to provide in-class support for a pupil with social and emotional regulation needs in a mainstream primary setting. This role is ideal for a Teaching Assistant who is calm under pressure, adaptable, and comfortable supporting emotional regulation. Day-to-day of the role: • Provide flexible, emotionally attuned support to help the pupil access learning. • Support regulation during difficult moments or transitions, particularly from preferred activities back to structured lessons. • Use low-demand, non-confrontational approaches. • Adjust communication style according to the pupil’s emotional presentation. • Work alongside visual supports and established classroom routines. • Be able to move quickly between focused pupil support and supporting a group or table as needed. • Work collaboratively with the class teacher to maintain learning across the class. • Occasionally support another pupil in the class with additional needs.
