Pastoral Support Assistant - Waltham Forest Waltham Forest, East London | Full-Time | September 2026 | £100-£115 per day | Term Time Only Do you enjoy supporting young people beyond the classroom and helping them thrive both academically and personally? Tradewind Recruitment is recruiting for a dedicated Pastoral Support Assistant to join a thriving secondary school in Waltham Forest this September. This role is perfect for someone with excellent interpersonal skills who enjoys working with students, building positive relationships and helping create an environment where every young person feels safe, supported and motivated to succeed. The Role Working as part of the school's experienced pastoral team, you'll provide day-to-day support for students across Years 7-11. You'll help improve attendance, encourage positive behaviour, support student wellbeing and work closely with Heads of Year to resolve any issues affecting students' education. No two days are the same, making this a highly rewarding and varied role. Main Duties • Support students with attendance and punctuality • Build strong relationships with pupils and families • Deliver mentoring and wellbeing sessions • Promote positive behaviour throughout the school • Assist with safeguarding and pastoral initiatives • Help students overcome barriers to learning • Support reintegration following absences • Work collaboratively with teaching and pastoral staff About You The successful applicant will have: • Experience working with secondary-aged young people • Excellent communication skills • Strong organisational ability • Empathy, patience and resilience • Confidence managing challenging situations • A proactive attitude towards student wellbeing Previous experience within schools, youth work, mentoring or support services would be highly beneficial.
