SEN Teacher - Primary SEND School - Morden SENDhelp is recruiting a full-time SEN Teacher for a specialist primary school in Morden. This role is suitable for a qualified teacher with previous experience teaching children with special educational needs and the ability to adapt learning for pupils working at different levels. The school supports primary-aged pupils with a range of additional needs. Qualified Teacher Status and previous SEN teaching experience are essential. Key details • Job title: SEN Teacher • Location: Morden • Setting: Specialist primary SEND school • Working pattern: Full-time, Monday to Friday • Hours: 8:30am to 3:30pm • Qualification: Qualified Teacher Status is essential • Experience: Previous experience teaching children with special educational needs is essential The role As an SEN Teacher, you will plan and deliver structured, engaging lessons that are adapted to pupils' individual learning, communication and developmental needs. You will support children who may be working below age-related expectations or who require additional help with communication, emotional regulation, social interaction or independence. The successful teacher will be confident differentiating lessons, assessing progress and creating a calm, consistent classroom environment. You will work closely with Teaching Assistants, school leaders and other professionals to help pupils make meaningful progress and work towards their educational and EHCP outcomes. What you will be doing • Planning and delivering differentiated lessons for primary-aged pupils with SEN • Adapting teaching methods, activities and resources to individual needs • Assessing, recording and reporting on pupil progress • Supporting pupils to work towards personalised learning and EHCP targets • Creating a safe, structured and inclusive learning environment • Providing clear guidance to Teaching Assistants and support staff • Managing behaviour positively and consistently • Supporting pupils with communication, emotional regulation and independence • Working collaboratively with colleagues, families and relevant professionals • Maintaining accurate planning, assessment and safeguarding records Essential requirements • Qualified Teacher Status • Previous experience teaching children with special educational needs • Experience teaching within a primary or comparable age range • Strong knowledge of differentiated and inclusive teaching • The ability to plan lessons for pupils working at different levels • Effective classroom and behaviour-management skills • Good communication and teamwork skills • A patient, reliable and consistent approach • A clear commitment to safeguarding and pupil welfare What SENDhelp offers • Competitive PAYE pay • No umbrella-company deductions • A dedicated SENDhelp consultant • Support with onboarding and compliance • Interview preparation • Relevant training • Ongoing support throughout your placement • Access to long-term opportunities within specialist and inclusive schools As a specialist SEND recruiter, child safety and welfare is our number one priority.
