Job description

Acorn Education Trust is seeking an experienced and supportive teacher to work with children with a variety of Special Educational Needs within our dedicated Primary Link provision , based a t Bulford St Leonard’s C of E Primary School in the village of Bulford, Wiltshire. This is an exciting opportunity to join our expanding SEND team and provide support for primary aged pupils, who require a more specialist provision than mainstream, but who do not need a special school. Working Hours: Part-time 0.5 FTE. Required: ASAP in Autumn term At Acorn, we pride ourselves on transforming education locally, with our two nurseries, seventeen primary and four secondary schools being at the heart of their local communities. We are fully committed to a culture of inclusivity and are proud to have a dedicated Link 3 support base at Bulford St Leonard’s, where futures are created and staff make this a reality by delivering a curriculum based on promoting engagement, active learning and rooted in the acquisition foundational skills. Children attending will develop their own "toolkit" to enable reintegration to their mainstream school. Working as a key member of our SEND team, you will work closely with the Trust Head of SEND and our Senior Leadership to deliver our vision, help students progress in their learning and make a real difference to their school lives. As a SEND Teacher , you will be passionate about teaching children with barriers to learning, be that speech, language and communication needs, or social emotional needs, and maintaining high standards. You will also be committed to developing expertise in the teaching of pupils with SEND, supporting colleagues, the headteacher and the wider Trust SEND network to secure positive outcomes for SEND pupils. Qualified Teacher status is essential for this role. We are looking for someone who: Is committed to developing expertise in the teaching of pupils with social and emotional needs; Has proven ability to raise the outcomes for pupils; Is committed to securing positive outcomes for pupils with SEND; Is able to plan and teach a broad range of engaging and effective lessons that motivate, inspire and improve student attainment across a range of activities; Can ensure that teaching is broad, balanced, relevant, motivational and appropriately adapted in order to maximise the academic potential of students; Can demonstrate effective behaviour management; Can work in partnership with parents, school staff and outside agencies; Has high levels of professionalism, the ability to work hard and remain calm under pressure; Has an outstanding commitment to ongoing professional development; Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills with high levels of emotional intelligence; Is committed to safeguarding all children and adults.
