Job Description Teacher Primary (2) (7/41403) Sanquhar Primary School (Learning Centre) Teacher Scale £34,938 - £52,614 Post 1: 1.0fte Permanent Learning Centre ** Post 2: 0.8fte Temporary Mainstream (session 2026/2027) * Sanquhar Primary School is situated in the scenic Upper Nithsdale area of Dumfries and Galloway, serving the Royal Burgh of Sanquhar and Wanlockhead. Sanquhar is easily accessible from much of Dumfries and Galloway, as well as neighbouring areas in Ayrshire, Lanarkshire and Glasgow. We are looking to recruit a committed and enthusiastic teachers to join our team within Sanquhar Primary School *This post may be suitable for secondment line management approval should be sought before applying The successful candidates will demonstrate a sound understanding of a range of teaching methodologies and curricular approaches and will work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, external agencies and the wider community. ** Suitable candidate should have experience and understanding of working with additional support needs or have an interest in working within this sector. A significant relocation package of up to £5000 is available to the successful candidate. Please see attached guidance for further information. Applicants for teaching posts must be registered with the General Teaching Council for Scotland (GTCS), Clerwood House, 96 Clermiston Road, Edinburgh, EH12 6UT in the appropriate sector. This post is considered as Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. From 28 February 2011, preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG scheme update check prior to formal offer of employment being made by Dumfries and Galloway Council. Applicants who have been resident outside the UK within the last 5 years, if offered a position, in addition to a Disclosure Scotland Check, will be required to provide a completed police record check from the police authority in the country or countries in which they were resident.
