Year 7 Transition Teacher Location: Marlow Contract: Full-Time Salary: MPS / UPS Start Date: September 2026 Application Closing date: 24 July 2026 About the Role Are you a passionate and dedicated teacher looking to support students during an important stage of their education? We are seeking an enthusiastic Year 7 Transition Teacher to help pupils make a successful move from primary to secondary school. You will deliver engaging lessons, provide pastoral support, and help students build the confidence, skills, and resilience needed to thrive in their new learning environment. Key Duties • Plan and deliver engaging, inclusive lessons that support Year 7 students' academic progress and transition into secondary education. • Create a positive, supportive, and well-structured classroom environment where students feel safe, confident, and motivated to learn. • Provide pastoral support, helping students develop confidence, resilience, independence, and positive learning behaviours. • Assess, monitor, and record students' progress, using assessment data to inform planning and identify areas for support. • Build positive relationships with students, parents, carers, and colleagues to ensure a smooth and successful transition into secondary school. • Work collaboratively with teaching staff, pastoral teams, and the wider school community to support student wellbeing and achievement. • Promote high standards of behaviour, attendance, and engagement in line with the school's policies. • Ensure safeguarding policies and procedures are followed at all times. • Contribute to the wider life of the school through staff meetings, parents' evenings, training, and extracurricular activities where appropriate. Requirements • A passion for inspiring and supporting children to achieve their full potential. • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is desirable; however, applications are also welcomed from unqualified teachers with relevant classroom experience and a strong commitment to primary education. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with pupils, colleagues, and parents. • Strong organisational skills and the ability to plan and deliver engaging, high-quality lessons.
