Job Description
Vision for Education is recruiting a skilled and enthusiastic Design Technology Teacher to work in a secondary school from the new academic year. This role is ideal for a DT Teacher who enjoys hands-on teaching and inspiring students through creative, practical learning.
The successful Design Technology Teacher will play a key role in delivering engaging workshop-based lessons, developing technical skills, and encouraging problem-solving, innovation, and independent thinking in students.
This opportunity suits an experienced DT Teacher , an ECT, or a specialist practitioner looking to secure a long-term Design Technology teaching job within a supportive school environment.
Key Responsibilities
•
Teach Design Technology across KS3 and KS4
•
Deliver practical and theory-based DT lessons
•
Support students in developing design, making, and evaluation skills
•
Promote safe working practices in workshops and classrooms
•
Differentiate lessons to meet a range of abilities
•
Work collaboratively within the DT and wider technology department

Requirements
To be considered for this Design Technology Teacher role, candidates must have:

Qualified Teacher Status or equivalent
•
Experience teaching Design Technology at KS3 and/or KS4

Knowledge of at least one DT specialism (e.g. Resistant Materials, Product Design, Graphics, Food Technology, Engineering)
•
Strong classroom and workshop management skills
•
A passion for Design Technology and student achievement
•
Eligibility to work in the UK
•
A valid DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply
