About the role

Are you passionate about helping young people learn and grow? Lift Utter is looking for an 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join our team and make a real difference in our children's lives every day. Could this be the start of something special for you? About the role As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant, you'll provide tailored support to an individual pupil and (at times) small groups, and contribute to a calm, purposeful learning environment where every young person feels safe, seen and supported. This role will predominantly be a one to one support role, however flexibility to work across the school is required at times.Key responsibilities Your responsibilities will include: Supporting a child on a one-to-one basis or at times in small groups during focused activities Encouraging language development through play, songs and conversation Observing and recording progress, feeding this back to the class teacher Supporting personal care needs with kindness and dignity Helping to create stimulating, well-organised learning spaces Building strong, trusting relationships with children, families and staff Promoting good behaviour, emotional wellbeing and a sense of belonging Skills and Experience we would like to see: Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is advantageous but not essential Experience supporting within a school setting Familiarity with phonics programmes such as Read Write Inc Understanding of child development and how children learn A flexible, proactive approach and a genuine passion for primary education UK right to work, as this role is not eligible for sponsorship. This role is initially on a fixed term contract until August 2027, witht he possibility to extend.
