Job & school data sources
Last updated: 22 August 2026
Trust matters when you're job-hunting. Here's exactly where our data comes from and how we keep it up to date.
School directory
- England: Get Information About Schools (GIAS), Department for Education. Refreshed weekly.
- Scotland: gov.scot school contact details register. Refreshed monthly.
- Wales: gov.wales / Welsh Government address register of schools. Refreshed monthly.
- Northern Ireland: education-ni institution register. Refreshed monthly.
Every school is keyed on its official identifier (URN, SEED, or country equivalent) — we never dedupe by name.
Academy trusts and governing bodies
MAT and governing organisation data is sourced from GIAS group records (England) and the equivalent official registers for Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
Vacancies
- Vacancies posted directly by schools, trusts and agencies on SchoolJobs.uk.
- The Department for Education's Teaching Vacancies service (England), used under the Open Government Licence. These listings are imported from the official service; the school named on the vacancy is the employer, not Teaching Vacancies and not SchoolJobs.uk.
Every vacancy is deduplicated, classified by employer type (school / trust / agency), geocoded from its postcode and enriched from the source page's structured data where available. Each vacancy page names its source.
Salary content
Salary ranges combine live vacancy data with national pay scales — STPCD (England & Wales), SNCT (Scotland) and the equivalent NI teachers' pay circulars — plus support-staff frameworks published by NJC/SJNC.
