How term-time pay works
Most support roles are advertised as a full-time, all-year salary from the NJC pay spine. If you work term time only, your pay is scaled for your hours and for the weeks you're paid.
Paid weeks include the weeks you work (usually 39) plus the holiday and bank holidays you'd get as an all-year worker, earned pro rata.

What is the Green Book method for term-time pay?
Holiday is earned pro rata while you work: paid weeks = weeks worked + (holiday weeks × weeks worked) ÷ (52.143 − holiday weeks). Some employers instead add full holiday on top.
Do bank holidays count?
Yes. Term-time staff get bank holidays as part of their holiday entitlement, so they're included in the paid weeks.
Why is my monthly pay the same in August?
Your yearly pay is split into 12 equal monthly payments, including school holidays.
