Job description

About this Role We are looking for an organised, proactive and professional Admissions Officer to join our academy and take operational ownership of student admissions across Years 7-13, including Sixth Form. Working with the Assistant Principal who has overall responsibility for admissions, you will manage the day-to-day admissions process, acting as a key point of contact for students, parents/carers, the Local Authority, other schools and academy colleagues. You will ensure admissions are accurate, timely and compliant, while providing a positive experience for students and families. The role also includes supporting key transition, enrolment and admissions-related events throughout the academic year. This is predominantly a term-time role, with the postholder required to work two weeks during the school holidays each year. One of these weeks will be GCSE results week in August, which is a particularly important period for admissions and Sixth Form enrolment. We welcome applications from candidates seeking either full-time or part-time working hours and will consider flexible working arrangements where these can meet the needs of the academy. Please note that this is an on-site role and the successful candidate will be required to work at the academy. We are looking for someone with strong organisational and communication skills, excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage a varied workload with appropriate autonomy. Experience of working in a school or admissions environment would be advantageous. Please see the attached Job Description and Person Specification for full details of the role and requirements. Why Join UKAT? We are committed to supporting the wellbeing, development and success of our staff. As part of our team, you will benefit from: Benenden Healthcare membership. Free access to wellbeing, health and counselling services. Free on-site parking and discounted electric vehicle charging. Access to our on-site gym facilities. Staff Thrive Days in addition to scheduled professional development days. Tailored professional learning pathways and trust-wide career opportunities via the UKAT Institute. Eye care and hearing care vouchers. Free annual flu vaccinations. Relocation packages for eligible candidates. Interest-free loans and travel loans. Excellent transport links, with London and the wider South East within easy reach, or you may benefit from the cycle to work scheme with UKAT. UKAT is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. All appointments are subject to enhanced DBS and safeguarding checks. We reserve the right to close a vacancy earlier than an advertised date if we have received applications that meet the criteria. The University of Kent Academies Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Applicants will be required to undergo child protection screening appropriate to the post, including checks with past employers and the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). In addition, the Trust will carry out an online search, once, as part of our due diligence on shortlisted candidates. This is intended to help us identify any incidents or issues that have happened and are publicly available online. The selection panel will then explore such items with the candidate during interview. The Trust’s HR Team or another member of staff trained in safer recruitment, will use Google.com to conduct each search and no adverse judgement will be formed for applicants with limited or no online footprint
