Post: After School Club Assistant Location: Morice Town Primary Academy, Charlotte Street, Devonport, Plymouth, PL2 1RJ FTE Salary Range: NJC Grade A Point 3, £24, 796 Actual Annual Salary: £6709 Pro Rata Contract Type: Permanent Contract Hours: 11.25 Hours per week, Monday to Friday About the role We are looking for a caring and enthusiastic School Club Assistant to join our Afterschool Club provision from September 2026. We are seeking to employ a creative individual who will make a positive contribution to our busy and friendly club. The role will require: To ensure the smooth and reliable operation of the club To provide a stimulating environment for the children with creative and play opportunities To assist in ensuring the safety of all those children at the club To act in a responsible manner towards the children at all times To be responsible for ensuring that play materials and equipment are properly used, maintained To assist with the day to day administration and record-keeping Preparing and serving afternoon snack to the children Escorting children About the successful candidate Experience of working with parents and carers from a range of cultural backgrounds, encouraging full participation in their children's play and learning opportunities Experience of working as part of team providing high quality childcare services At least 2 years' experience of working with children in the 4-11 years age range and their families Knowledge of child protection issues and policies and relevant Safeguarding procedures Already holding a first aid and/or food hygiene qualification would be advantageous.
