Teaching Personnel are looking for a dedicated Secondary Teaching Assistant to join one of our partner secondary schools , supporting students aged 11–16 . Working across all key stages and a range of abilities , you will play a vital role in supporting the school's day-to-day needs, helping students engage in learning, build confidence, and reach their full potential within a positive and inclusive environment.
Key responsibilities
• Work closely with teachers, the ALNCO, and pastoral teams to provide tailored academic and emotional support for students aged 11–16.
• Support students in building confidence, overcoming barriers to learning , and achieving their full potential.
• Provide 1:1, small-group, and classroom-based support throughout the school day.
• Support the development of students' social, emotional, and behavioural skills.
• Work alongside the school's Specialist Resource Base (SRB), providing personalised support for students with additional learning needs.
• Help manage behaviour positively and effectively, promoting a safe and inclusive learning environment.
• Support students during lessons, transitions, break times, educational visits, and wider school activities.
What We're Looking For

Essential:
• Experience working with children or young people in education, youth work, care, sports, coaching, mentoring, or similar transferable settings.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills , alongside a genuine commitment to student wellbeing and achievement.
• An understanding of the social, emotional, and developmental needs of secondary-aged students, including those with Additional Learning Needs (ALN).
Desirable:
• Experience supporting students with ALN, SEND, SEMH, or behavioural needs.
• Relevant qualifications or studies in Psychology, Education, Sports, Youth Studies, or other related subjects.
