Assistant Headteacher

Balshaw Lane Community Primary School is seeking an inspirational and strategic Assistant Headteacher to join our Senior Leadership Team. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced leader to play a pivotal role in shaping the direction of our school, driving improvement and ensuring the best outcomes for every pupil. As an Assistant Headteacher, you will play a key role in shaping school improvement, leading strategic priorities and supporting the development of staff and pupils. You will work closely with the Headteacher and wider leadership team to ensure high standards of teaching, learning, behaviour and personal development are embedded across the school. You will champion excellence, foster a strong sense of belonging and ensure that no child is left behind. This is an exciting opportunity for an outstanding leader who is passionate about education, committed to improving life chances and ready to make a significant contribution to the future success of the school. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the curriculum across Key Stage 2 and you will work closely with our EY/KS1 Assistant Headteacher to ensure our curriculum is broad, balanced, ambitious, inclusive and meets the needs of our children to ensure high standards across the school. This is a permanent, full-time role.

We are looking for someone who:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) through any route. Is an excellent, experienced Key Stage 2 teacher who genuinely puts children at the heart of all they do. Substantial, proven teaching or leadership experience within Key Stage 2 (Years 3-6). Champions our school values of respect, honesty, gratitude, kindness, inclusivity and humility. Is passionate about the curriculum and has experience, knowledge and understanding to help lead and support subject leaders deliver an ambitious, strong curriculum which our children thrive from. Is ambitious for all pupils and committed to securing the highest standards of achievement and behaviour. Leads with integrity, clarity and moral purpose. Works collaboratively, building strong relationships with staff, pupils, families and the wider community. Demonstrates a deep commitment to inclusion, equity and safeguarding.
