About the role

This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled classroom practitioner who is ready to take the next step in their career by combining excellent teaching with leadership responsibilities. The role is central to the success of our school and will have a direct impact on the exceptional learning experiences we provide for our children. As a Class Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching and learning for all pupils in your class, including those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), English as an Additional Language (EAL), more able learners and those eligible for Pupil Premium funding. Alongside your classroom responsibilities, you will lead Year 2, playing a key role in ensuring high standards of teaching, learning, curriculum delivery and pupil outcomes across the year group. Working closely with senior leaders and colleagues, you will help drive continuous improvement and support the successful transition of pupils through this important stage of their primary education. You will be supported through high-quality coaching, mentoring and professional development from experienced leaders, enabling you to grow both as an outstanding teacher and effective leader. About Our School At White Meadows Primary Academy, we are proud of our high expectations for academic achievement, behaviour and personal development. Instead, we nurture independence, resilience and a strong growth mindset, empowering pupils to take ownership of their learning and embrace challenge with confidence. White Meadows Primary Academy is an exciting and rewarding place to work, where children, staff, families and the wider community are all valued members of our school family. What We're Looking For We are seeking an experienced and passionate teacher who believes every child can succeed and is dedicated to securing the very best outcomes for all learners, regardless of their starting points or barriers to learning.

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

A proven track record of strong classroom practice and pupil achievement. The ability to inspire, motivate and support both pupils and colleagues. A relentless commitment to achieving excellence for every child. Strong leadership potential, with experience of leading initiatives or supporting colleagues. Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills. Strong communication skills and a warm, positive sense of humour. Excellent organisational and time-management skills. Creativity and innovation that enhance teaching and learning. A collaborative approach and commitment to working as part of a supportive team. The drive and ambition to contribute to the ongoing success and development of the school. This role would suit an experienced teacher who is looking to extend their leadership experience while remaining firmly rooted in the classroom and making a meaningful difference to children's outcomes. As Year 2 Lead, you will: Provide professional leadership and support for colleagues within the year group. Champion high-quality teaching and learning that secures strong outcomes for all pupils. Support curriculum planning, implementation and consistency across Year 2. Monitor pupil progress and attainment, identifying appropriate actions to close gaps and accelerate achievement. Work with colleagues to ensure effective assessment practices, moderation and preparation for end-of-key-stage assessments. Lead year group meetings and contribute to whole-school improvement priorities. Model outstanding classroom practice and share expertise with colleagues. Support and develop less experienced staff through coaching, collaboration and professional dialogue. Act as a key link between the year group and the wider leadership team, ensuring clear communication and a shared vision for success.
