Job description

We are looking for reliable, enthusiastic and hardworking cleaners to join our team to help maintain a high standard of cleanliness within classrooms, corridors, offices and toilets. This will require duties such as vacuuming, dusting, and cleaning of washroom areas, tables, chairs etc. A good understanding of cleaning chemicals and equipment would be desirable. This is a Term Time Only plus two working weeks contract, working 20 hours per week in the afternoons/evenings. Flexible Zero-Hour Opportunities Available We also offer zero-hour contracts for individuals seeking greater flexibility in their working arrangements. These roles play an important part in supporting holiday cover, deep cleaning programmes, and periods of staff absence, helping us maintain the high standards our academy expect. The successful candidate will: Sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming classrooms, corridors, and offices Cleaning and disinfecting toilets, sinks, and washroom facilities Emptying bins and disposing of waste safely Wiping down desks, tables, doors, and high-touch surfaces Cleaning windows, glass panels, and mirrors Restocking supplies such as soap, toilet paper, and paper towels Maintaining cleanliness in staff rooms and common areas Following health and safety guidelines at all times The Bishop of Winchester Academy is a thriving Church of England school, recently recognised by Ofsted as prioritising ‘wider opportunities alongside achievement so that pupils “live life to the full.” ’ (Ofsted 2023).
