Hawridge and Cholesbury CE School VACANCY for Additonal Cleaner Hours per week: 12 Location: Hawridge Common, Chesham, HP5 2UQ Pay: Approx £6,773 per annum Working hours: 12 per week, 3.30pm - 5.30pm Monday to Friday plus 2 hours (working hours to be arranged) Working weeks: Term time plus 12 hours holiday cleaning (39 weeks) Paid weeks: 44.1 Accountable to: School Business Manager Hawridge and Cholesbury CE School are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and motivated person to join our friendly team and work alongside our current cleaner. Applicants should be hardworking and take pride in their work, having and insisting on high standards, so that our children have a clean and safe place to learn. Main Areas of Responsibility: To clean all school areas, corridors, stairs, classrooms, staff room, library, music room, Noah's Ark, ICT room, offices and shared areas, to ensure they are kept in a clean and hygienic condition To hoover and clean carpets and sweep and wash hard floors as required Occasional cleaning of toilets (both staff and pupils) and the medical room Occasional restocking of toilets, classrooms and the kitchen areas with paper towels, soap and toilet paper, as appropriate Securing and closing doors and windows as appropriate To carry out periodic deep cleans during school holidays To collect and dispose of waste in an appropriate manner, where required To assist in maintaining and arranging the orderly and secure storage of supplies Cleaning is to be done as per the agreed specification using equipment and materials appropriate to the different surface Please see job description for further details To contribute to a working environment which supports equal opportunities and anti-discriminatory practice Requirements Essential To demonstrate that you can work on your own initiative, be part of a team, take instruction and constructive criticism Have energy, enthusiasm, positivity and ability to be flexible Experience in undertaking a range of cleaning duties Physically fit and able to carry out manual tasks Ability to plan own workload and to meet deadlines Be patient, punctual, reliable and trustworthy To work within agreed policies, including Health and Safety, as well as adhering to the school’s safeguarding policies and procedures Ability to use own initiative to improve areas of practice Desirable Knowledge of Health & Safety COSHH regulations Safeguarding awareness Previous experience in a similar role Please note that we will review applications on a rolling basis and reserve the right to close this advert early if a sufficient number of applications have been received.
